چکیده

low, particularly when it is 0.6, the dispersion of values for any individual will span only a small part of the reference interval. Reference values will thus be of little use, in particular for deciding whether a significant change has occurred. Conversely, when the index is high, particularly when it is 1.4, values from a single individual will cover much of the entire distribution of the reference interval. In this context, reference values will be of significant value for clinical interpretation. For total CoQ10, the index of individuality is 12.2/29.0 0.42; thus, it is low. In conclusion, we have derived data for the biological variation of CoQ10 together with reference values for the New Zealand population. The low index of individuality for CoQ10 indicates that individual CoQ10 concentrations are tightly distributed around a homeostatic setpoint and that significant changes can occur within the reference interval. From a statistical perspective, seven samples should be evaluated to ensure that the estimate of the homeostatic setpoint is within 10% of the true value, with 95% probability (15 ). From a clinical perspective, serial changes in CoQ10 should be evaluated against the RCV to allow for both biological variation and analytical imprecision.

A Review on Therapeutic Drug Monitoring of Immunosuppressant Drugs

Immunosuppressants require therapeutic drug monitoring because of their narrow therapeutic index and significant inter-individual variability in blood concentrations. This variability can be because of factors like drug-nutrient interactions, drug-disease interactions, renal-insufficiency, inflammation and infection, gender, age, polymorphism and liver mass. Drug monitoring is widely practiced ...

Adding thymoglobuline to the conventional immunosuppressant regimen in kidney transplantation: A cost-benefit analysis

Background: Thymoglobuline (TG), is used for both induction and rejection therapy in kidney transplantation (TX). This study was conducted to compare between adding TG or not to the conventional drugs to evaluate the rate of rejections, infections and costs. Methods: In two groups of patients, each of 45 cases group A received conventional drugs (cyclosporine, mycophenolate and prednisolone) a...

پایش درمانی سیکلوسپورین-آ در کودکان ایرانی با کلیه پیوندی

Background & Aim: Cyclosporine-A (CsA) is an immunosuppressant with a narrow therapeutic window. Inter-and-intrapatient variability in cyclosporine pharmacokinetics necessitates frequent blood level monitoring in transplant patients and total blood cyclosporine concentration used to allow dosage adjustment in transplant patients. The purpose of the present study was, first of all, to develop ...

Plant cells technology as an effective biotechnological approach for high scale production of pharmaceutical natural compounds; A meta-analysis study

Natural-based drugs are the important bioactive substances that have been used for prevention and treatment of diseases. Natural products should be prepared in commercial scale from relevant medicinal plants. Hence, large amounts of the plants have been needed for extraction and isolation of compounds of natural origin. Plant cells technology is the best strategy for the production of the plant...

The Significance Application of Indigenous Phytohemagglutinin (PHA) Mitogen on Metaphase and Cell Culture Procedure

Phytohemagglutinin (PHA) is a lectin, obtained from the red kidney bean that binds to the membranes of T-cells and stimulates metabolic activity, cell division, etc. The object of this research was the comparison between self made PHA (Indigenous) and imported commercial one, following conventional and High Resolution Cell Synchronization technique (HRCS) .From each blood sample of healthy indi...
